Had your share of $100 hamburgers? Drilled enough holes in the sky? Been there and done that?
How about considering putting those hard earned skills of yours to a task which will help others? Straight-and-Level Aviation is proud to support and serve Angel Flight West in the roles of Command Pilot and Mission Orientation Pilot.
We are always looking to introduce fellow pilots, and non-pilots, to the joy of assisting on missions in and around California. Interested? Click on the Angel Flight logo and see how you can help!
The EAA Young Eagles program was launched in 1992 to give interested young people, ages 8 - 17, an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.
Straight-and-Level Aviation is a proud supporter of Watsonville's EAA Chapter 119. Please consider joining us each year from May to November as we assist in providing free flights to youth of the local area.
Each of the FAA Flight Standards regions has a Regional FAASTeam Office dedicated to safety programs managed by a Regional FAASTeam Manager (RFM). Based on the makeup of the aviation community in each region, the RFM selects a group of FAASTeam Program Managers (FPM) with specific aviation specialties and assigns them to geographic areas of responsibility
Straight-and-Level Aviation serves as an Aviation safety volunteer working closely with FAASTeam Program Managers (FPM) to actively promote safety. As a volunteer Straight-and-Level Aviation receives training and is supported by the FPM with equipment and materials withhin the region.
Pressure on public and privately owned airports continues to mount...and Watsonville is no exception. This pressure takes many forms, including curfews, noise restrictions, lack of improvements, residential encroachment, and even calls to close the airport.
Often, the general aviation community is totally unaware of what's boiling in the pot concerning their airport—until it is too late to turn the tide. Knowing what's happening in the political environment surrounding a local airport is of the utmost importance if we are going to preserve our general aviation infrastructure into the foreseeable future.
Straight-and-Level Aviation supports the AOPA Airport Support Network and serves as a vehicle for AOPA members to work in concert with AOPA to establish that early warning system.
